
2016 NCAA Champs
(Durham, NH) — The Golden Gopher women’s hockey team won the N-C-A-A women’s hockey championship for the second straight season and for the fourth time in the past five years with a 3-1 win over previously-undefeated Boston College yesterday in New Hampshire. Minnesota opened the scoring just 13-seconds into the game when freshman Kelly Potomak (POT-uh-mak) notched a goal. The game remained 1-0 until the third period when Amanda Kessel and Kelly Pannek put the Gophers up 3-0. Goaltender Amanda Leveille (LEV-ee-ay) turned aside 32 shots in the win. Minnesota ends the season with a 35-4-and-1 record.
