Player Notes
• Naz Reid led the way for the Timberwolves tonight with 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field and 5-of-10 from three, six rebounds, and two assists. Tonight marks Reid’s 15th 20+ point/5+ rebound game this season (39th career) and his eighth game this season with 5+ made threes (14th career).
• Since being inserted into the starting lineup on Feb. 1, Reid is averaging 18.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per game all of which would be career-high averages over a season. Reid has grabbed a total of 110 defensive rebounds since Feb. 1, the third most defensive rebounds by any player in the NBA during that span, trailing only Nikola Jokić (138) and Jalen Duren (113).
• In 27:23 minutes of action off the bench tonight, Nickeil Alexander-Walker finished with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three, three rebounds, and three assists. Tonight marks Alexander-Walker’s fourth 20+ point game (22nd career). Minnesota moves to 4-0 on the season when he finishes with 20+ points.
• Tonight marked Alexander-Walker’s first game of the season off the bench with 20+ points on 70.0%+ shooting and 3+ made threes and the second such game of his career (March 12, 2024 at LA Clippers: 28 points on 9-of-10 shooting and five 3PM). He becomes just the seventh player in franchise history to record multiple such games.
• Anthony Edwards finished with 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field, including two shots from deep and five rebounds. Tonight marks Edwards’ 45th 15+ point/5+ rebound game of the season (198th career), the fourth-most such games in franchise history.
• Jaden McDaniels contributed 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, three rebounds, two assists, and a game-high four blocks. McDaniels notched his 17th 15+ point game of the season (73rd career). McDaniels is just the fourth player in the NBA this season to record 15+ points on 70.0%+/4+ blocks/2+ steals and just the fifth player in franchise history to do so. Kevin Garnett (four games) is the only player in franchise history to record multiple such games.
• McDaniels’ four blocks in tonight’s victory marks his first game of the season with 4+ blocks (ninth career) and his second game with 4+ blocks and 2+ steals, becoming just the 18th player in Wolves history with multiple such games.
• McDaniels recorded all four of his blocks in the first half of tonight’s win, tying a career-high for blocks in a half and becoming the first Timberwolves player this season to accomplish this feat.
• Mike Conley ended the night with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three, six rebounds and five assists, marking his 19th 10+ point game of the season (846th career) and his second 10+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist game of the season (132nd career).
• Conley is the 41st player in NBA history aged 37 or older to record multiple games with 10+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ assists and the first player in franchise history to do so.
Team Notes
• Minnesota scored 126 points in tonight’s win, the 39th consecutive game the Wolves have scored 100+ points, good for the third-longest active streak in the NBA.
• With tonight’s win over the 76ers at Target Center, the Timberwolves have now won two straight home games against Philadelphia for the first time since winning consecutive home games in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
• In tonight’s victory, Minnesota held Philadelphia to just 9-of-32 (28.1%) shooting from deep. Tonight’s contest marks the 18th game this season the Wolves have held an opponent under 30.0% from deep, the third-most such games in the NBA this season.
