Senator Al Franken will make an as-yet-unspecified “announcement” Thursday in Washington D-C, as the list of lawmakers calling for his resignation grows — that amid fresh allegations from a woman who says Franken tried to forcibly kiss her in 2006, arguing it was his right as an entertainer. Senator Heidi Heitkamp from neighboring North Dakota and Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin are among those asking Franken to resign. In a message posted to Twitter, the Wisconsin Democrat said it would be best for him to step down. Senator Amy Klobuchar says she met personally with Franken and is “confident he will make the right decision.”
