New security precautions take effect tonight (7pm) when the Wild host Dallas in a pre-season game at Xcel Energy Center. Spokesman Aaron Sickman says they’re encouraging fans to leave non-essentials at home or in the car, “But if they need to bring something, something that fits in their hand is gonna be perfect, and/or you need to find something that fits into a clear plastic bag so we can see what’s in there and not have to pull everything out of the bag and do a lengthy security check at the entrances.”
The team is also launching a Text-to-Assist program this season. If fans have a question or anything needs attention, they should text to 69050 and include WILD at the start of the message. Sickman says if there are “any issues related to the building, getting around, if things aren’t clean, if fans are not behaving appropriately around them, they can send a text to us and we’ll get back to them asap and try to make sure things are taken care of.”
