A Moorhead police officer will not be disciplined and is back on duty after hitting a handcuffed woman in the head when she spit at him. Police Chief Shannon Monroe indicates details of the decision involving Officer Matthew Lambert cannot be made public. Lambert struck the woman while she was being treated in the emergency room of a Fargo hospital after being arrested at a restaurant for an incident involving a gun. Felony assault charges against the officer were dropped after an expert said he believed Lambert was following his training.
