Nolan praising federal decision to limit illegal paper dumping on U-S markets

U-S Rep. Rick Nolan (D-8th Dist)

Eighth District Minnesota Congressman Rick Nolan is praising the U-S International Trade Commission for imposing, at his urging, high tariffs on uncoated paper that China, Brazil, Indonesia, Australia and Portugal have been dumping on the U-S market. Nolan says import of government-subsidized paper from foreign countries has been  devastating for Brainerd, Sartell and Cloquet — plus Boise Paper.   He says Boise alone laid off 265 people and shut down a couple production lines.  Nolan is also among those fighting illegal steel-dumping by foreign countries on U-S markets. He says they’ve had some success but more must be done.
