Noontime demonstration in Duluth today against Enbridge pipeline expansions

Activists say Enbridge Energy plans “reckless expansion” of its pipelines across Minnesota and they’re demonstrating against it this afternoon (1245pm) in downtown Duluth. Backers say modern pipelines transport oil safely, but Fond du Lac Band member Debra Topping questions the track record and doesn’t want to take the chance.  “It’s genocide when there will be a spill on the reservation,” Topping says, adding she doesn’t want polluted water and damaged wild rice.
