A North Branch man is now charged in a drunken snowmobile crash that left his passenger in critical condition. Sheriff’s deputies say 22-year-old Travis Vanelsberg struck a vehicle on East Rush Lake Sunday and 22-year-old Zoe Reider fell off the snowmobile and suffered life-threatening injuries. Reider remains hospitalized after suffering two brain bleeds, a lacerated liver, a fractured sacrum, a punctured lung, and three broken ribs. Vanelsberg admitted to drinking two beers, but a breath test showed his blood alcohol concentration was point-two-two-nine percent, nearly three times the legal limit. A North Branch woman was also arrested for D-W-I after attempting to take Reider to the hospital.
