A North Dakota man has been sentenced in Saint Paul federal court to 18 months in prison for threatening to murder a U-S district judge. Prosecutors say 65-year-old Robert Ivers of West Fargo made statements after the federal judge ruled against him in a civil lawsuit, sending threatening letters and telling two attorneys the judge “stole my life from me” and “you don’t know the fifty different ways I planned to kill her.” Authorities say Ivers has a long history of using words to frighten and intimidate. A federal jury in Saint Paul convicted Ivers last September.
