Jamar Clark
There’s a benefit in north Minneapolis tonight for the family of Jamar Clark, the African-American man shot and killed by Minneapolis police. Organizer Jess Sundin with the Anti-War Committee says her group is standing in solidarity with people fighting a war here at home. Sundin says the role of the police in African-American communities is “like an occupying army, the same way that our military plays that role around the world in other countries.” Sundin says money raised will first go to help the Clark family make a final payment on a tombstone for Jamar’s grave. She says any extra, after covering event expenses, will be dedicated to ongoing work to win justice for Jamar.
