It’s been a slow start to flu season, but officials say it’s still important to get vaccinated. Kris Ehresmann with the state Health Department is encouraging people who think they don’t need a shot to get one because “getting vaccinated against influenza is not something you do for yourself, but for other people around you because there are many individuals who are at higher risk for complications of influenza.” Ehresmann says that includes pregnant women, seniors, young children and people with underlying health conditions.
