Federal investigators’ preliminary report says a July 2nd crash that killed a farmer from Breckenridge happened when the vintage plane he was piloting struck a light pole while attempting to land at the Moorhead airport. The N-T-S-B says Mark Yaggie had taken off from Hector International Airport in Fargo, bound for Pelican Rapids. Shortly after takeoff, Yaggie told air traffic control he wanted to divert to Moorhead but no reason was given. He crashed into a field and died at the scene. Prior to the crash, witnesses saw the plane flying at low altitude.
