Former Minneapolis Police Officer Mohamed Noor plans to plead not guilty to murder and manslaughter charges in the fatal shooting of Justine Damond. According to the Star Tribune, the court documents filed today show Noor intends to use self-defense and reasonable force in his defenses. Noor was charged in March with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Damond’s July shooting death. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says Noor acted “recklessly” when he fired the shot into the dark that killed Damond after she called 911 to report a suspected assault in her south Minneapolis neighborhood.
