Officials advise drivers to use extra caution as southern Minnesota digs out from a major late-winter storm and snow continues falling in some areas. MN-DOT’s Mike Dougherty says there are a “lot of icy patches, some rough road, and so we’re just asking people to use slower speeds, drive with their headlights on, and really look for those snowplows out there.” Just before noon, the State Patrol had reported nearly 300 crashes and 200 spinouts statewide, most in the southeast. 38 people were injured but there are no deaths reported at this point.
