(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is confirming that 24-year-old Jamar Clark died on Monday evening. Police say Clark was an assault suspect when an altercation with officers ensued and police shot him early Sunday morning. Some witnesses say Clark was handcuffed at the time of the shooting. Two Minneapolis police officers are on standard administrative leave and Mayor Betsy Hodges is calling for a federal civil rights investigation of the shooting. Last night, 42 protesters were arrested after blocking traffic on part of I-94 in north Minneapolis for several hours.
