Officials urging safety after 9 kids injured in Becker County ATV crash

Becker Co. Sheriff Todd Glander

An A-T-V crash in Becker County that injured nine children has officials again reminding parents to keep an eye on their kids and understand rules and regulations for off-road vehicles. Sheriff Todd Glander says what happened Tuesday night is “just plain unsafe — and to be on a public road that’s used by other vehicles.”  It’s the second accident this month in Becker County involving children driving an A-T-V. On July 4th an eight-year-old girl driving an A-T-V and two four-year-old passengers were seriously injured when they were hit by a car while trying to cross a road.  Glander says DNR offices should have info on current rules for off-road vehicles, or people can go on-line.
