On-line registration for 2019 Grandma’s Marathon opens tonight

October 1, 2018 By Bill Werner

Registration for the 2019 Grandma’s Marathon, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and William A. Irvin 5-K opens on-line tonight (Mon) at 7 pm. Spokeswoman Mandi Peterson says if for some reason a runner can’t snag a spot in the race they want, there are “always other opportunities to get in through our charity partner program, and so that’s something that runners can certainly look at, and all of the information is on our website at grandmasmarathon.com.”

Peterson notes the time for “early bird” pricing has been shortened.  “From October 1st to October 14th is our first tier, and so that’s when runners will have the opportunity to register at the lowest price point, and then the price does go up after that,” she says.

Peterson suggests for especially dedicated runners, the Great Grandma’s Challenge — which pairs the 5-K with either the full- or half-marathon. She says the 5-K is a good warm-up for the Saturday race.

Grandma’s Marathon Weekend is Friday June 21st and Saturday June 22nd, 2019 in Duluth.
