(Minneapolis, MN) — The annual Roy Griak Invitational is set for this Saturday on the Les Bolstad Golf course on the University of Minnesota campus. This is one of the largest cross country meets in the country and includes runners who compete at the high school level, the small college level, and the university level. This year’s event will feature more Big Ten teams than normal because the Bolstad course will host the Big Ten Championships in October. Several Big Ten teams will use the Griak Invitational to scout the course for the championship meet later in the season. Gopher men’s cross country coach Steve Plasencia says this is a true “event” and spectators will really enjoy it. Women’s coach Sarah Hopkins says this meet will test her talented, but young roster.
