Vikings T Brian O’Neill has been named to the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl, the first of his career. O’Neill will be replacing T Tristan Wirfs of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who is unable to participate due to injury.
The Wilmington, Delaware, native played in 100 percent of the offensive snaps in the 2021 season, helping pave the way for RB Dalvin Cook to post 1,159 yards on the ground, the most in the NFC. He anchored an offensive line that allowed QB Kirk Cousins to be sacked just 28 times, which is tied for sixth-fewest in the NFL, and WR Justin Jefferson to set the NFL record for most receiving yards (3,016) in a player’s first two seasons in the NFL. The second-round pick (No. 62 overall) by the Vikings in the 2018 NFL Draft has started in 58 of his 62 games played, with two additional starts coming in the club’s 2019 playoff run.
O’Neill becomes the fourth Viking to participate in this year’s Pro Bowl alongside RB Dalvin Cook, WR Justin Jefferson and S Harrison Smith.
The AFC and NFC teams will face off in the 2022 Pro Bowl on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 3 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, televised on ESPN.
