Organizers say thousands are expected at a protest in downtown Minneapolis today (4:30 pm) in response to the recent immigration and Mexico border wall orders signed by President Donald Trump. Meredith Aby-Keirstead with the Anti-War Committee says her group, and co-organizers with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) are concerned about the fact that the president is “putting his racist rhetoric into policy” and she doesn’t think Trump’s policies represent what most Minnesotans think. Aby-Keirstead says she’s concerned about what she calls “escalating attacks on immigrant brothers and sisters.”Aby-Keirstead with the Anti-War Committee says the goal is to send a message to the federal government and to Trump that his policy is not popular.
