Vice President Mike Pence said during a Thursday stop in Minnesota that the Trump administration is working “hour by hour” to reach a trade agreement with China as the U-S prepares to raise tariffs on Chinese imports. Pence says the administration is “prepared to continue to expand on the tariffs that we’ve implemented, because things have to change in our relationship with China. I mean, China today is fully half of our international trade deficit, and that doesn’t even account for issues like the intellectual property theft and forced technology transfers, and frankly all the things that really work against American workers.”
Pence is also calling on Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson, who chairs the Agriculture Committee, to urge U-S House leaders to have a vote on the U-S/Mexico/Canada trade agreement.
