Montevideo Police are investigating after two viscous pitbulls attacked and injured three staffers and three students near the middle and high schools there. Police Chief Adam Christopher says when officers arrived on scene, a student was holding one of the dogs back with a bicycle. The dog also went after the officer. Christopher says “this is a bad situation because you have dogs that are biting at people and have bitten people. In addition you have traffic, school. No officer wants to be put in that position at all.” The officer made the call to shoot both dogs. They were brought to a local vet where they were euthanized, due to their injuries. The victims suffered puncture type wounds. The dogs’ owner has been located and lived about five blocks from the scene.
