A 16-year-old Moorhead boy has been accused of causing the death of a 43-year-old Watertown, S.D. woman in a suicide attempt. Watertown Assistant Police Chief Tim Toomey says investigators consider the early Tuesday morning death of Dawn Meyer a homicide. The boy was driving a car when he slammed into Meyer’s SUV on U.S. Highway 212 as she was on her way to work. Police say the boy, a runaway, was going at least 100 miles-an-hour in a 35 mile-an-hour zone. Moorhead Police Captain Deric Swenson says the Moorhead Police Dept. was notified that the boy was missing at 10:45 p.m. Monday. Swenson says the boy left home at around 9:30 p.m. The boy’s name has not been released. He remains in a Sioux Falls hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is open and charges have not been filed.
