A 38-year-old Coon Rapids man is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after leading police on a high-speed chase last night.
Police attempted to stop the suspect on his motorcycle in Anoka County just after 10 pm when the driver fled. The five-mile chase came to an end at a Forest Lake rest area when the driver crashed into a fence. Officials say the suspect shot himself once after the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no shots fired by officers.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
