Minnesota G-O-P leaders are excited about President Trump’s rally and visit today in Duluth (Wednesday). State Party Chair Jennifer Carnahan says it’s no coincidence the president is visiting the 8th District where there’s an open seat in Congress. Carnahan called G-O-P-endorsed Pete Stauber “one of the brightest candidates running in the country,” and says this could be the biggest pick-up seat in the nation for Republicans. D-F-L Congressman Rick Nolan is retiring and running for lieutenant governor with Attorney General Lori Swanson. Political analysts will be watching to see who President Trump endorses and what issues he will emphasize to a northern Minnesota audience. Carnahan hopes the president will visit the state again before the November election.
