Several outlets are reporting that the investigation into Prince’s death is focusing on a possible prescription drug overdose. Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud says “it’s disappointing” if law enforcement officials are responsible for talking to the media about the investigation. Kamerud also says “the Drug Enforcement Agency is not part of the investigation” at this point. Yesterday, a judge approved a request from Carver County officials to seal the search warrant in Prince’s death investigation. The information will be sealed for 180 days or until the beginning of any potential criminal proceedings. Kamerud says details of the search warrant, if released to the public, could hinder the investigation and put innocent people in harm’s way.
