A top Minnesota Vikings official said today representatives of Prince were in talks before the pop star died about an August 13th concert at U-S Bank Stadium, which would have made him the first act to play at the new venue. But the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority in a statement says although there were preliminary discussions with Prince’s people, they “only surrounded his interest in performing at the stadium” and no other details were discussed. Prince’s last show at a large Minnesota venue was in 2007. Because he performed at the Super Bowl that same year, many were speculating whether he would make a return appearance in 2018 at U-S Bank Stadium.
