Pro-life groups are applauding the Trump administration’s decision to end federal funding for research that uses human fetal tissue, but Scott Fischbach with Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life adds, “The University of Minnesota continues to do research on fetal tissue, and it is controversial. It is something that the legislature has looked at.”
University of Minnesota officials were not immediately available for comment. Some scientists are critical of the Trump administration’s action, saying fetal tissue is essential for research on H-I-V vaccines, cancer and other health issues.
