In the wake of Governor Dayton’s announcement Tuesday that he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer, medical officials are out with a reminder. Dr. Jocelyn Rieder from Park Nicollet says “typically in our clinic we think patients should get a screening with a prostate exam and a blood test starting at 50 years old and depending on those results, get them every other year.” She says that can vary if you have a family history of prostate cancer.
The governor, who turns 70 Thursday says he was diagnosed last week. Dayton says he intends to serve the remainder of his term.
