A section of I-94 has reopened after a demonstration which blocked traffic last night in North Minneapolis. Police arrested over 50 people during the protest over the shooting of 24-year old Jamar Clark. Clark was shot by police during an altercation in North Minneapolis and reportedly died last night after being taken off life support. Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges is asking the Department of Justice for a civil rights investigation in the officer-involved shooting. That’s in addition to an investigation already underway by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Residents and activists in north Minneapolis have been demanding answers after police shot Clark. Witnesses have said Clark was handcuffed when he was shot, but police have said he was not.
