The Department of Justice held the first of three public hearings last night (MON) in Falcon Heights, about last summer’s fatal shooting of Philando Castile. More than a hundred people were on hand at an elementary school offering opinions, while some described their own encounters with the law while driving through the city. In an incident which sparked national outrage, Castile was shot by a St. Anthony police officer during a traffic stop. Another public meeting is scheduled tonight in St. Anthony and tomorrow in Lauderdale.
