North Dakota’s oil rush has slowed in recent months, dropping prices at the pump and now causing layoffs. To close the year, BNSF Railway is reportedly laying off close to 100 employees in western Minnesota and North Dakota, due to a drop in freight demand. The Minnesota workers are from the East Grand Forks and Dilworth areas. BNSF says the layoffs are temporary.
