The woman accused of smashing a glass beer mug into the face of a woman speaking Swahili at a Coon Rapids restaurant has pleaded guilty.
Jodie Burchard-Risch faces 180 days in jail and five years probation. Officials say Asma Jama was eating and talking to friends at Applebee’s last October when Burchard-Risch and her husband confronted Jama for speaking in a foreign language. Jama suffered deep cuts on her nose, eyebrows and lower lip.
Burchard-Risch is set to be sentenced on December 20th.
