It was a warm February and it’s been a warm month of March so far, but Assistant State Climatologist Pete Boulay says it’s not all that unusual in recent years. Boulay says the Twin Cities even had an 80-degree temperature on St. Patrick’s Day in 2012 — so the state has had some warm winters recently, but also some cold ones. Temps are more normal around Minnesota after some record-breaking highs on Tuesday — and daytime highs are expected to climb again, going into the weekend.
