Severe weather across the country has resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of blood drives. Sue Thesenga is spokeswoman for the American Red Cross in Minnesota and says there is an emergency need for blood and platelet donations. She says everyday the Red Cross must collect 14-thousand blood donations for patients. Thesenga says the Red Cross supplies blood to 26-thousand hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. She says blood products are being delivered to hospitals as quickly as donations are coming in. To make an appointment, give and roll up your sleeve, go to Redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-Red-Cross.
