Eight American Red Cross volunteers from Minnesota are being deployed to Florida and Georgia to assist with the response to Hurricane Michael. More workers from the state will be headed to the southeast in the coming days and weeks. A Minnesota region spokeswoman says 30 of the more than local Red Cross disaster responders deployed to Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas remain on the East Coast. Volunteers are also helping here at home getting others ready for deployment and back-filling needs such as responding to residential fires. Minnesotans are encouraged to connect with loved ones in the projected path of Hurricane Michael.
