A Red Flag Warning has been issued over a good portion of northwestern and west-central Minnesota.
The DNR’s Ron Stoffel says, “well over 90 percent of the wildfires that we have in Minnesota are caused by people. And the primary cause is escaped fires from debris piles.”
With plenty of sunshine in the forecast, wildfire risk will be higher over the next week or so. High winds and low humidity are big factors in fire danger. The Red Flag Warning is in effect until eight tonight.
