Investigators in northern Minnesota now say the remains found near Bemidji Tuesday are believed to be two people. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says it received information Monday from a concerned family member about a missing person. The relative said they traveled to the area from the Twin Cities and had not been in contact for a week. Authorities located the missing person’s vehicle Monday night at the Palace Casino in Cass County. That vehicle was seized and two people of interest were identified. Officers learned a crime of violence happened at a residence on Highway 89 and a search led to the human remains. Autopsies are being done as part of the ongoing investigation.
