(Washington, DC) — President Obama today (FRI) announced he’s rejecting the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline which would have run from Canada to Texas. Minnesota Republican Congressman Tom Emmer says he was disappointed and surprised by the president’s decision. Emmer says
the president is making a decision for the American public “we’re going to have to live with, which is not what the majority of people have been asking him for now for months.” Obama cited environmental concerns and feels the pipeline would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to the U-S economy. Emmer disagrees and says the president is siding with special interests.
