Rep. Peggy Bennett (R-Albert Lea)
The state must continue to press for 24/7 response to child abuse reports in all 87 Minnesota counties — a key finding of a report from a special legislative task force released today. State Representative Peggy Bennett from Albert Lea says it’s a “real mixture” as to which parts of the state still have problems. She says it’s tougher to find child protection workers in rural areas, and the state is working on that problem. Bennett says adjustments are also needed to improve the foster care system in Minnesota and strengthen the role of state programs that help protect children.
