Rep. Sarah Anderson (R-Plymouth)
Republicans are promising their own plan in response to Governor Mark Dayton’s call last week for paid parental leave for all state employees. Plymouth Representative Sarah Anderson says her proposal will “encourage” paid leave for all hard-working Minnesotans. Anderson says she’s still working out details and won’t say whether her plan will include employer incentives or tap part of the state’s budget surplus. She says she appreciates what the governor is trying to do, but his plan “seems like we’re putting government before the citizens of Minnesota, and I’d rather have it be the other way around.”
