“Too big” say Republicans in both the Minnesota House and Senate about Democratic Governor Mark Dayton’s 1.5-billion-dollar bonding proposal for state public works projects. House Capital Investment Committee Chairman, Grove City Republican Dean Urdahl says, “We could look at maybe around 800 million [dollars]. That certainly could be higher or lower, but… we’re considerably less than what the governor is proposing.” Dayton says his proposal creates nearly 23 thousand jobs and spurs economic growth statewide. Senate bonding committee Chairman Dave Senjem from Rochester says the governor’s plan “busts the budget.”
