The most recent run of the state’s COVID-19 computer model predicts that extending the stay-at-home order through the end of May would result in more deaths than some other options being considered. State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says that conclusion was “kind of out-of-date almost as soon as it was posted” because the computer model is being updated. “Whether it would continue to show that with the new run, we can’t comment on that until we see that new run,” Malcolm says.
Republican Representative Jeremy Munson from Lake Crystal says the Walz administration is “desperately trying to find a way to justify their destructive ‘stay at home order’ that is destroying jobs and the economy.”
