Republicans are urging Governor Tim Walz to keep things moving on the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline in northern Minnesota, after the state Court of Appeals ordered a re-do of the environmental impact statement and regulators said Wednesday they will *not* challenge that ruling. House Deputy Minority Leader Anne Neu says Line 3 backers “just to want to make sure that those things happen and that we’re not dragging feet, we keep this process moving along. Taken far too long already.”
Governor Walz responds the state Public Utilities Commission decides on the timeline. “We’re doing our role of following the process, making sure that we are doing things in a timely manner, but not cutting corners to get those done,” the governor says.
Officials at the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission are not commenting on a timeline. The court ordered regulators to look at the potential impact of an oil spill into the Lake Superior watershed.
