Rev. Jesse Jackson with Diamond Reynolds and Atty. Larry Rogers Jr.

Civil rights leader the Reverend Jesse Jackson met Friday with the fiancee of Philando Castile, the black man fatally shot by police Wednesday night in Falcon Heights. Jackson says he praised Diamond Reynolds for sharing the video of the shooting, and told MNN “we must end the violence.  We are a threat to ourselves. We are becoming a threat to ourselves. 34-thousand Americans a year are killed because of gun violence.”  He says “police killing — executing — black men, whether it’s in Minneapolis or Louisiana is… totally unacceptable.” But Jackson adds “assassinating police is not a civil rights strategy. It’s wrong. It’s immoral. It’s terroristic.”
