The State Patrol says road conditions are improving in southwest Minnesota after a Thanksgiving storm dumped snow — but Sergeant Troy Christianson says further east in the Rochester area, there’s standing water from rain and temperatures are dropping. Christianson says once that starts to freeze, roads will be very icy and drivers have to be sure to reduce speed. He advises motorists to keep a close eye on current conditions. Authorities are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 52 north of Chatfield after a vehicle crossed the center line and struck another head-on.
