A 6th grader from Rosemount was nearly killed last November when a motorist failed to stop for the school bus she had just exited. Thankfully, the bus driver’s quick actions, to honk his horn, alerted 11-year-old Miana Rhoades to the passing truck. Rhoades father Les, says his daughter was very distraught when she got home. He says after seeing the video…
“I clearly understood when she came home bawling she truly, truly felt she was going to die. As a parent how do you handle that? How do you explain it to an 11 year old. It truly broke my heart.”
In the past six years, law enforcement across Minnesota has written nearly 9,000 stop arm violation citations. The fine for such violations was increased from $300 to $500 as of August 1st. A video of the incident can be seen on Minnesota News Network.com
