Parts of southern Minnesota are digging out from a band of heavy snow and forecasters say round two is on the way. The National Weather Service is reporting ten inches in the Faribault and Red Wing area, about nine in Northfield, eight inches in Marshall, seven in Owatonna, six in the Mankato area and about four inches at M-S-P Airport. The Minnesota State Patrol says there 149 crashes statewide between 12 and 9 PM Tuesday and 16 with injuries. The snow machine is expected to start up again this evening and continue into early Thursday afternoon. Three to eight inches of accumulation is expected. The forecast calls for subzero temperatures Friday and Saturday.
