Salvation Army bellringers are out in force this day after Thanksgiving for the kick-off of the holiday shopping season. Spokeswoman Annette Bauer says if you can’t afford to donate, become a bellringer. Bauer says anyone with a couple free hours can make about 30 dollars an hour for the Salvation Army — and even more on weekends. The money helps support emergency housing, foodshelves, hot meals and after-school programs. For information on donating or becoming a bellringer, visit salvationarmynorth-dot-org.
