SBA disaster loan centers open tomorrow in Marshall, Redwood Falls

September 4, 2018 By Bill Werner

Residents and businesses in nine southwest Minnesota counties affected by severe storms and flooding between June 15th and July 12th may now apply for low-interest disaster loans — and outreach centers open tomorrow (Wed 9/5) in Marshall and Redwood Falls. Sandra Lawson with the U-S Small Business Administration says, “These loans are available to homeowners who may have had physical damages to their primary residence, or if they had personal property losses.”

Lawson says renters who lost personal property may also apply for a disaster loan — as can businesses with property and/or inventory damage.  And she says small businesses can also apply for a loan if they lost business because of the storms. To apply on-line: DisasterLoan.sba.gov

The S-B-A disaster declaration covers Lyon and Redwood counties, plus the adjacent counties of Brown, Cottonwood, Lincoln, Murray, Pipestone, Renville and Yellow Medicine, plus the Lower Sioux and Upper Sioux tribal governments. Businesses and private nonprofits can borrow up to two million dollars — homeowners up to 200 thousand dollars, renters up to 40 thousand dollars to replace personal property.
